Game Recap

South’s women’s soccer season came to an end Saturday at Comstock HS, losing to Parchment 3-0 in the district final. Despite controlling most of the play and generating 25 shots, the Sailors could not stop a terrifically talented freshmen forward for Parchment who’s 4 shots found the net 3 times. You don’t need much total offense if you can score with that percentage. On the opposite end, Parchment’s keeper made the most of her positioning and hands to keep South off of the scoreboard. South worked incredibly hard until the final whistle and seemed close at any moment to put themselves back in the game but could not find that finishing shot or touch. South concludes it’s season with a respectable 13-5-2 record including 2nd place in the OK Gold and an inspiring 4 overtime victories. The Sailors will say good-bye to 10 senior players who demonstrated the very best commitment, care and love for their team and program the past 4 years. Olivia and Claire Boomstra, Sidney Blankespoor, Jenn DeBoer, Taylor Davis, Lindsey Dykema, Amanda Montgomery, Jordan Lanning, Kaitlin VanderYacht, and Mackenzie Parker, you will be missed.
