Game Recap

The Sailors kept the ball rolling with a 6-0 win over FHE and it was a whole team effort. Everybody got a chance to play and play was controlled by the Sailors for the majority of the game. The Sailors got on the board with a goal by Emmitt DeJong assisted by a through ball on the ground by Ryan Doornbos. Daniel Sculley scored the 2nd of the half and Noah Sall and the defense kept the Redhawks scoreless in the first half.
7 minutes into the 2nd half Daniel Sculley threw a nice throw in to Doornbos’ feet and he turned and ripped a left footed shot across the pitch to the upper 90 from 27 yards out. The Sailors got one of their first corner goals on the season off a nice serve by Matthew Hubbard that Doornbos redirected across the goal to a Sam DeVries finish with a header. The fifth goal by the Sailors was a gorgeous first touch by Isaiah House that he continued to take into the box and slotted a perfect drop to an oncoming Zach DeKock that buried it in the back of the net from 12 yards out. The final goal for the Sailors was a nice pass from Derek Seif to DeKock who had his shot deflected directly to Sculley who netted his hat trick for the day. The 2nd half shut out was recorded by Nick Miedema in net for the Sailors.
