The votes are in, and it wasn’t even close.

South Christian standout Natalie Samdal, who will be back in the state golf finals this weekend, was judged by Grand Rapids-area voters to have the best short game of all in a poll that concluded on Monday.

Samdal collected 65.94 percent, or 10,737, of the 16,282 votes cast in the latest poll.

Allison Quinn (East Kentwood) finished a distant second with 3,372 votes, or 20.71 percent of the action.

Quinn shot an 82, joining sister Janelle Quinn (84) as two individuals from the Falcons girls golf team to qualify for the Division 1 state finals at Forest Akers East.

Samdal, a sophomore, fired an 87 to qualify with her teammates for state. The Division 3 finals take place at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek.

Gabrielle Wierda (Catholic Central), Madison Reynolds (FH Northern) andMegan Skoog (FH Eastern) rounded out the top five.
