Game Recap

It was senior night at South Christian on Tuesday night as Courtney VanderHoning and Ciera Kuiphof were honored for their years in the South Christian girls basketball program. South Christian hosted Wyoming on Tuesday night. It was not a good start for the Lady Sailors, as they spotted Wyoming a 12-2 head start in the 1st quarter. South would settle in and close the quarter only down by 2 points and go on to take the lead into halftime up 32-29. SC seemed to have several chances in the second half to take a commanding lead, but the Lady Wolves managed to stay within striking distance until the final minutes as South closed out the game for a 67-56 victory. Gabby Timmer produced a huge night as she dropped in 20 points and pulled down 18 rebounds. Mariel Bruxvoort added 18 points and Sydney Cleary stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Emily Brinks contributed a quality effort with 9 points in the game. South Christian is now 10-8 on the season and 7-3 in the OK Gold conference. South will host East Grand Rapids on Friday night looking to take the season series from the Lady Pioneers.
