[complete_gallery id=”8246″ class=”alignnone” ]What an exciting football season we have going at South Christian this year! Putting in hours of practice to help pump up the fans at all the Varsity games are the South Christian Sideline Cheerleaders. This year’s team consists of Co-Captains, Stephanie Laninga (12) and Liz McGuire (12) along with teammates Chelsey Zylstra (12), Taylor Gregg (12), Danielle Oostra (11), Gabrielle Tribolet (10), Rachel Conover (10), Rebecca VanderLugt (9) and Meghan Martin (9). Serving as head coach is the wonderful Sandra Gaddy with her fabulous Asst Coach Holly Gregg. This group of hardworking girls have been participating in weight training twice a week and practice Monday through Friday leading right into each week’s game. You will find the cheerleaders in front of the student section doing their best to get the crowd involved and cheering our football players on every week, come rain or shine, or even snow! Although they are a varsity team, they support all of the football teams. Prior to the purple out against Unity Christian, the girls left candy bars in all the varsity boys lockers wishing them luck. When the girls found out the freshmen team didn’t have locker decorations, they put together a design with a bible verse and got one on each of the freshmen team’s lockers within a couple days. This morning all football players should have found a little treat in their locker wishing them a good game this week! In addition, the girls had a great time participating in South’s first Victory Day and have more plans to volunteer coming up! So come to a game – cheer on our guys, and cheer on our cheerleaders who work hard to support our school!
