Multiple Teams · Summer Fitness Anyone?

For many years, SC cross country runners, graduates, parents, siblings, and at least a few interested others have gathered on summer Monday evenings at Douglas-Walker Park to run or walk together. There are three important changes this year!

1. We are transferring from Douglas-Walker Park to the SC Sports Park (Kazoo Ave just north of 84th) … start time is 7:15 pm.

2. We are expanding the invitation from the greater SC cross country community (team members, grads, parents, siblings) to the greater SC community … so anyone looking for fitness camaraderie in Christian community is invited to attend one or more sessions.

3. By the graciousness of Chriss Pruim and Lisa VanTol (proud SC moms), we are adding a “Boot Camp” (strength/flexibility/movement conditioning for all ages and abilities) to the “Running Club” … so all those interested in joining others in the greater SC Community who want to walk, run, or “Boot Camp” exercise outside are welcome to come for any of the Monday evening sessions: June 12, 19, and 26 … and July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Please gather by the main building (concessions/bathrooms) at 7:15 pm, and a brief devotional will follow. Then, SC Cross Country Coach Steve Winkle will divide and guide the runners/walkers, and either Chriss or Lisa will lead the Boot Camp (no equipment needed … and there will be modifications for those just getting started on summer fitness). There is no cost or sign-up needed, and we presume anyone who participates knows his/her physical limitations and will not hold anyone in leadership liable for any injuries or related medical issues.
