Dear SCHS Community –
Many of you personally knew or knew of Bob Blacquiere, but some who are new to the community might not have had the pleasure of meeting him. He was a teacher in the South Suburban Christian Schools for 37 years, most of that time at South Christian High School. He was also the head football coach at South Christian for many of those years. He retired four years ago and spent the last two years fighting cancer. He passed away Friday, and we are confident that he is in the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ, even as we grieve his earthy loss. You can read his obituary here.
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 1-3PM and 5-8PM, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 – 100th St. SE in Byron Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Friendship Christian Reformed Church.
Many of our staff and students want to praise God for Bob’s life by attending the funeral. Therefore, South Christian High School will be closed on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
Athletic events, including home soccer and away volleyball, will continue as planned, with practices at coach’s discretion.
We invite you to join us in lifting up the Blacquiere family in your prayers during this time of grief. Please also keep Bob’s many friends in your prayers.
Jim Peterson, Head of School
