Girls Varsity Golf · Sailors battle tough conditions, earn back to back State runner up finishes

For the 23rd consecutive year, the South Christian Girls Golf team earned a trip to the MHSAA State Finals.  This year the team had the opportunity to travel to Michigan State University to play the East side of the Forest Akers Golf complex.  The two day, 36 hole tournament was filled with a small amount of sunshine, varying temperatures, weather delays and tough course conditions.

Lead by Coach Ben Cook, the squad was able to stay focused and finish 32 shots back of champion Flint Powers Catholic for their second consecutive MHSAA Division 3 runner up performance.

Junior Maddie Wieringa (161) and senior Natalie Samdal (166) finished fifth and eighth, respectively, to lead the Sailors.
