It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Mr. Tom Dykema on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  He lost his earthly battle with ALS but gained his ultimate victory. 

Tom served the SC Community for 44 years in a variety of roles.

His stats include:

Math Teacher: 37 years

Athletic Director: 28 years

Varsity Basketball Coach: 25 years

Coaching Record: 414-168

Conference Championships: 16

District Championships: 11

Regional Championships: 4

State Championships: 1

Tom was also inducted into the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan’s Hall of Fame in 2012. 

While all of Tom’s numbers and wins are impressive, he will forever be known more as a mentor and a Christian role model for those who knew him. “The most fun, as I reflect on it, was the relationships you build with young people. It’s a real joy and that’s what coaching is all about…coaching guys who become great young men who lead Christ-centered lives.” ~Mr. Tom Dykema, 1946 – 2021
