The sailors completed their first week of the season 2-0 with a convincing win against Holland Christian Friday evening. South started fast and jumped to the early lead and never looked back. The first quarter ended in exciting fashion as Joe Maas drained a half-court shot at the buzzer to take a 25-9 lead. The sailors continued to apply pressure on both ends of the floor, playing with unselfish energy throughout the contest. They built on their lead quarter by quarter leading 42-16 at half and ultimately winning 77-37. Sharing the basketball ultimately led to all ten players on the roster scoring in the contest. Sailors were led in scoring by freshman Tyler Krosschell with a game-high 23 points. Tyler DeWeerd scored 12 points off the bench and Kolin Younce joined in double-digits with 10 points. Sailors are back in action Tuesday night at Kelloggsville High School at 5:30pm.
