JV Boys Hoops loses on the Road

JV Boys traveled to Muskegon High School and battled on a short turn around, but ultimately lost the contest 42-39 against the big reds. The Big Reds were a tough defensive opponent, making everything all night well-earned. The Sailors were up to the challenge for three quarters, but sloppy play and turnovers against the pressure ultimately allowed Muskegon back into the game. The sailors let 20-13 at half, and 31-24 after 3, but Muskegon turned up the pressure and the sailors ultimately could not get the buckets needed to pull away. Down 37-39, under 30 seconds to go, Tyler Krosschell was able to find his way to the hoop and score to knot the game at 39. But Muskegon was able to find the open man in a scramble situation as the clock was ticking down to hit the game winning three with 2 seconds left in the contest. The sailors were unable to get off a game-tying shot. The sailors were led in scoring by Tyler Krosschell with 14 points. Sailors will wrap up their 1st semester schedule on the road against Catholic Central on Thursday, 5:30pm.
