The boys JV sailors waited two weeks for the opportunity to get back in the win column. The sailors started the 2nd semester with a convincing 69-19 victory over Kalamazoo Christian Friday night at South Christian. The sailors used energetic defense to get things rolling Friday night, jumping out to a 19-2 lead after the first quarter. Tyler DeWeerd scored 7 of his 11 points in the opening quarter giving the sailors a nice spark off the bench. They controlled the game start to finish, and played true team basketball throughout. All ten players on the roster got into the scoring column and made contributions on both ends of the floor. Sharing the basketball was contagious and resulted in a very balanced scoring attack. The sailors had three players score in double digits with Tyler Krosschell with 12 points, Tyler DeWeerd with 11, and Kolin Younce with 10. Sailors begin conference play next Tuesday night at West Catholic, playing the middle game of the triple header slated for a 5:30pm tip.
