Sailors basketball was back at home Tuesday night, defeating West Catholic 60-36. Starting the 2nd round of conference play, the sailors were eager to prove their top spot. West Catholic was up for the challenge and played the sailors tough throughout the contest. West Catholic kept things close through the first half, never letting the lead get above 8 points. South took a 26-19 lead into the half and focused on their defense and interior play coming out of break. The sailors held the Falcons to six 3rd quarter points, while the sailors scored 17 of their own, all inside the paint. Tyler Krosschell led the way in the 3rd scoring 10 of his game-high 19 points in the frame. Ultimately the sailors pulled away and won 60-36. Kolin Younce and Joe Maas joined Krosschell in double-digit scoring adding 14 & 11 respectively. Sailors improve to 13-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Sailors travel to Northview Thursday night for a very challenging road contest.
