Congratulations to both Sophie Gaylord and Aliya VanHofwegen and their parents, Rebekah and Brenton Gaylord and Lisa and Eric Van Hofwegen, on their signing to continue their academic and athletic careers. Both girls plan to continue swimming as Sophie will do so at Oakland University and Aliya will go to Gordon College. Sophie plans to major in Biomedical Sciences while Aliya plans to major in Marketing and Psychology. They were both asked what their favorite moment of SC/Caledonia Swimming was and what they will miss the most. Sophie stated, "Winning conference this year and winning the 100 Butterfly and 100 backstroke at conference. I will miss the bus rides after meets with the team and the social aspect of practice." Aliya stated, "Winning the 50 Freestyle at Conference this past season and all the time spent with my teammates." Congratulations to both Sophie and Aliya and keep letting your light shine for Jesus along your journey! Go Sailors!
