Congratulations to the South Christian Girls Varsity Cross Country team on winning the Division 2 Regional Championship on Saturday morning at Sailor Sports Park. The Sailors won with a team total of 40 points which was 7 better than 2nd place GR Christian. SC had 5 runners in the top 15 overall and all 7 runners placed in the top 20. SC was led by Tiffany DeMaagd who finished 1st overall with a time of 18:33.6 and Chloe Rinzema who finished 2nd overall with a time of 18:38.7. The Sailors will advance to the State Finals which are held next week Saturday 11/1 at Michigan International Speedway with a race time of 1:30pm. The Sailor Boys finished 4th overall and just missed qualifying as a team. Both Thad VanderLaan and Ben Verlin will represent the SC Boys at MIS as they advance as individual qualifiers.
