South Christian Softball Moves On In Distrists

Tuesday night’s game ended well for the Sailors. Anna Timmer pitched a great game that helped lead the way for the lady Sailors to move on to round two in Division 2 districts. They defeated Middleville TK 4-2 and now play Wayland at 10 a.m. on Saturday at South Christian’s Sports Park.

Last night was a tough loss for the varsity baseball team. Trying to fend off Middleville TK to move on in districts, the Sailors gave up six runs and struggled at bat with nine strike outs and only five hits. They ended in a 6-4 defeat after a well played season.

The Sailor freshman baseball team ended the season with a pair of doubleheader splits against Hastings and Forest Hills Eastern. The varsity baseball team ended up splitting their double-header against G.R. Catholic Central. Game one went well for the Sailors and starting pitcher, Sam Memmelaar. JV Tennis Finishes 2nd in the Conference Tournament

The JV girls tennis team finished only two points behind conference champs, Forest Hills Eastern. The tournament finally wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon after suspending play from May 5 because of rain. Forest Hills Eastern took first with 33 points. South Christian finished close behind with 31 points and Wayland look third with 28 points.
