Sailors got behind early and couldn’t recover in a 7-0 loss to Christian on Tuesday. Christian took the lead on a double from Lisink in the first inning.
One bright spot for Sailors was a single by Seth Ritsema in the second inning that put some pressure on the Eagles.
Remington led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Christian. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Aidan Fennema started the game for Sailors. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over two and a third innings, striking out three. Alex Vostad, Ethan Henry, and Jace DeMann each contributed in relief for Sailors.
Freshman, Drew Burgess collected his first high school hit in the contest.
The Sailors will come back after Spring Break and hop right into conference play.
